We’re not even sure how to begin this blog post because this achievement is that special to us, so to make things simple: WE ARE NOW IN STORES!
But first, can we please talk about the power of manifestation really quick? When we opened for business in August 2019, we wanted to make our candles as available as possible to you guys, which is why we offer a pick-up option on all order amounts.
And where has the pick-up location been all of this time? You guessed it: The Schomburg Center - but on the outside of the building, so making our way INSIDE is a big deal to us, okay?!? We brought this to life!
Located in our hometown of Harlem, New York City, The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is one of The New York Public Library’s renowned research libraries, along with being a world-leading cultural institution devoted to the research, preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on African American, African Diaspora, and African experiences.
There you can indulge in their extensive divisions (or collections) of books, manuscripts, fine and applied arts, artifacts, photographs, prints, music, and other audiovisuals, that highlight everything Black - from our history to our cultures.
You also have the Schomburg Shop - where you can find our candles on the shelves alongside books, clothing, jewelry, and the like, all of which are created by Black and Brown artists for all ages.
We are proud of this accomplishment, excited to announce this during Black History Month, and humbled that our first store placement is at The Schomburg: a New York City Landmark, National Historic Landmark, host to 300,000+ visitors per year, and most importantly, an integral part of our Harlem community!
